Principal Osteopath

Joanne graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science) and a Masters in Osteopathy.

Upon returning home Joanne practised, as a structural Osteopath with a special interest in treating infants and pregnancy related matters, at several leading Osteopathic clinics where she gained invaluable knowledge and practical experience. Joanne also lectured Anatomy and Biology at the Australian College of Natural Medicine.

With the growing need for Osteopaths on the northside of Brisbane Joanne established the Osteocare clinic in 2004.

When not working, Joanne enjoys spending time with family and friends, practising yoga and going to the movies.

Rebecca Mitchell
B.App.Sc(Comp.Med), M.Osteo, Cert. Global Posturology

Upon completion of her Bachelor and Masters degree in Osteopathy from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Rebecca returned back to her home state to continue her career as an Osteopath

Rebecca enjoys working with a wide variety of patients – from new babies right through to Seniors and she has a special interest in pre and post natal care; where she has been recognized by the Osteopath industry for her research into the patterns and trends of Osteopathic treatment of children.

Rebecca tailors treatments specific to each individual and her gentle approach includes an extensive range of Osteopathic techniques that are aimed at relieving stressors and strains within the body, so as to allow optimum function.

Rebecca is also qualified to fit Posture Control Insoles®, a simple and cost-effective method of improving foot function to improve posture and help alleviate musculoskeletal pain.

Sharnie McCooke
B.App.Sc(Comp.Med), M.Osteo

Sharnie studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) whereupon she completed a Bachelor and Masters degree in Osteopathy. She is currently completing a further three-year Masters degree in Paediatric care for Osteopaths.

Since graduation, Sharnie has worked with a diverse range of patients in various clinics throughout Australia. Furthermore, she has dedicated her practice as an Osteopath to working with children from newborns to adolescents and using her skills to assist mothers in ante and postnatal care. She has gained invaluable experience working alongside leading Osteopathic Paediatric specialist, Maxwell Fraval in Canberra.

Together with Rebecca, she has been recognized by the Osteopath industry for her research into the patterns and trends of Osteopathic treatment of children.
Outside Osteopathy, Sharnie enjoys yoga, triathlon and sewing.
